Safeguarding is not a checkbox on Adeyemi Academy — it's built into every part of the platform. Here's exactly how we protect our learners.
Every tutor is verified
Before a tutor ever appears in our marketplace, they complete:
- • Photo ID verification (passport or driving licence)
- • Enhanced DBS check (UK) or equivalent overseas police clearance
- • Right-to-Work confirmation
- • Two professional references, contacted directly
Tutors who complete all four checks earn a Verified badge on their profile so learners see status at a glance.
Every chat can be moderated
Our admin team can review any chat that gets reported. All chats are stored securely and available for safeguarding investigations if required. Learners under 18 have parental oversight enabled by default.
Report & block, always available
Any user can report or block any other user from any chat, at any time. Reports are quarantined within 24 hours pending review. Blocked users are prevented from any further contact.
24/7 safeguarding email
Non-emergency safeguarding concerns can be emailed 24/7. Our safeguarding lead triages every message within 24 hours.
