Adeyemi Academy started as a spreadsheet of tutor contacts I curated for family and friends preparing for GCSE and A-Level exams. Some tutors were incredible, some were not — and it took a lot of trial and error to figure out which was which.
The learners had questions the day before the exam, not the day they could book. Some studied best at midnight, some on Sunday mornings, some needed someone in Lagos, others in London. The old model — one tutor, one city, weekly in-person sessions — could not stretch to fit real students.
So we built the marketplace we wished existed: transparent ratings, verified credentials, live in-app video with a whiteboard, chat between lessons, and transparent pricing. All under one roof.
